Aim and Scope

The Journal of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (JMID) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to the publication and dissemination of high-quality research in microbiology and infectious diseases. The journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, clinicians, scientists, and other professionals worldwide to communicate advances in the understanding, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and control of infectious diseases.

JMID welcomes original research, reviews, short communications, case reports, letters to the editor, clinical images, research notes, and guidance documents addressing important questions in microbiology and infectious diseases. The journal encourages research that contributes to scientific knowledge, public health, disease prevention, and improved understanding of infectious agents and their interactions with hosts and the environment.

Studies integrating human, animal, and environmental health, including One Health research, are particularly encouraged when they provide meaningful contributions to the understanding, prevention, surveillance, or control of infectious diseases.

Scope and Editorial Considerations

JMID considers manuscripts based on their scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, relevance to the journal's scope, and potential contribution to the field.

The journal welcomes both fundamental and applied research. Studies may involve clinical, experimental, epidemiological, laboratory, molecular, genomic, computational, veterinary, environmental, or interdisciplinary approaches.

Manuscripts that fall outside the journal's scope, lack sufficient scientific or methodological quality, or do not meet applicable ethical and publication standards may be declined without external peer review.

JMID is committed to promoting the responsible dissemination of scientific knowledge and to supporting research that contributes to a better understanding of infectious diseases and their impact on human, animal, and environmental health.
